About Bare Wood Creations
Reclaimed, retrieved and reinvented...
Born of a lifelong love of wood working, inspiration from the ever changing colors of New Mexico, and a new battle with my own body.
Why do this?
Bare Wood Creations is...
my small attempt to contribute to beauty and happiness in the world. Mine and yours! Much of the wood I use has been reclaimed. The rocks come from miles of walking the desert to stay healthy. And the color combinations come from never ending marvel at the sunsets, the skies, the light and shadow of the New Mexico landscape. It also acts as my small defiance to Parkinson's. Being diagnosed at 49 years old, it spurred me to turn my time to activities that keep my mind, hands and body active. Don't wait for retirement to pursue dreams, do it while you are able! Working with the epoxy is also a very zen practice. You can have the most creative and careful plans, but heat, humidity and a variety of factors give the epoxy a life of its own, just adding to the artistic process of each and every piece. Thank you for looking at my creations and I hope to collaborate to create a memorable piece of funtional art that brings a bit of beauty to your everyday life.
